Top 4 MLB DFS Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel, Yahoo Fantasy Baseball Targets 6-20

Hello and happy Monday! A statement that rarely has any conviction based on the day of the week. I do not think the day of the week matters when assessing our attitude or purpose. Truth be told, ask yourself, what is my purpose. Should be along the same lines of both short-term and long-term goals. Do not just slink and slide through life. Whatever your purpose, big or small, chase it and be proud!

Do not forget to check out the ROF favorite MLB DFS Stack of the Day!

Today’s baseball schedule gives us a nine-game All-Day slate. FanDuel’s Main slate is eight games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is also right games locking at 7:05p. While Yahoo! is an eight-game Main and locks early at 7:05p. Let’s dig into some of my favorite plays for Friday, June 20, shall we?

BOS v DET 7:10p 3B Rafael Devers(FD-$4,400)(DK-$5,700)(Y!-$26)

Devers has been on a tear! Tonight, against Faedo, he should feast!

Devers has been phenomenal the last two weeks and I see no reason why he slows down tonight against RHP Alex Faedo. He has a .740 wOBA + ISO. Which to some is a useless statistic. However, weighted on-base average (a measure of a player’s overall offensive performance per plate appearance) needs to be discussed in specific cases. Case in point, here with Devers. Just know anything over .320 wOBA is considered elite. Rafael’s hard-hit rate has been outstanding against right-handed pitchers this season. Furthermore, after a quick glance at the Rise or Fall Study Hub, we are looking at 12.7% ownership on Fanduel and 13.8% on DraftKings. Given the player and match-up, it does not matter. Plus, on both formats, his value tier is an A.

BOS v DET 7:10p OF J.D. Martinez(FD-$3,700)(DK-$5,400)(Y!-$21)

People continue to ignore JD cause he isn’t flashy or in your face. Yet, he continues to mind his business and be good at baseball!

JD should be one of your favorite ball players. Why do you ask? This guy keeps his head down and does his job. Plus, he is just like us! Martinez keeps a pad of paper and a pen on him in the dugout to log the pitches he sees and what the outcome of each AB was. As far as tonight is concerned everything is coming up roses! J.D. has hit eight bombs this year, with 28 RBI, and has a combined .612 wOBA + ISO. Per the ROF Study Hub Martinez fits beautifully in all DFS lines tonight. Much like Devers, I do not think ownership percentage is all that important with JD tonight. His value tier and projection tier are all A’s.

SD v ARZ 9:30p 2B/3B Jake Cronenworth(FD-$3,700)(DK-$6,000)(Y!-$20)

Without Manny in the Padres starting lineup tonight look for Jake to pick up the slack!

Jake is, without doubt, the definition of a one-off tonight. When we dig into the ROF Study Hub and isolate the Padres you will see he is the one batter that stands out. Manny rolled his ankle over the weekend, so it is safe to assume that an IL stint looms for him. Cronenworth has officially broken out this year and it all seems under the radar and secretive. Tonight, Arizona pitcher Zach Davies takes the mound and at first glance, three things stick out. His hard-hit rate(30.9%), exit velocity(85.8), and the fact he throws his sinker down and in and down and away 48.3% of the time. As luck would have it Jake has been an aggressive hitter swinging at the first pitch 62.6% of the time while maintaining a beautiful 16.5% whiff rate.

SF @ ATL 7:20p Evan Longoria(FD-$2,400)(DK-$3,100)(Y-$11)

Hey, look! It is Evan Longoria day!

Hey, here we are! Back on Evan Longoria against a left-handed pitcher! Albeit Max Fried but still an LHP. If anyone is a Braves fan or just baseball in general, then you know Max normally keeps the ball on the ground (49.86% GB rate). Upon closer inspection, Evan has been putting the ball in the air against lefties. It looks to be a warm night at Turner Field. More specifically 90 degrees. Also, Longoria looks to be batting 4th. In addition, per the ROF Study Hub, his ownership percentage is next to nothing. Evan, a right-handed bat against a left-handed pitcher with a pull rate of 42.4% speaks to me. Can you imagine a two or three-home run tonight at only 1.19% ownership on FD and a measly 0.7% on DK?

PIT v CHC 7:05p OF Bryan Reynolds(FD-$3,000)(DK-$4,000)(Y!-$20)

Reynolds will never be anything fancy but a nice choice in daily formats based on match-ups. Tonight is one of those spots.

I firmly believe the Pirates hang 6 to 7 runs tonight at home, against the Cubs. How will they do it? With the likes of B-Rey and let me tell you why. RHP Caleb Killian takes the bump for Chicago tonight, and he has been beaten up with eight earned runs through his first two big-league starts. Everything I have read leads me to believe Caleb will see a few more starts as the Cubs rotation gets healthy. That also means he may be thrown to the wolves. If he’s getting smashed then oh well, he stays in. Reynolds looks to be a better play on DK based on his rating of 34.95 and ownership of 2.9%. Bryan also loves to swing at the first pitch(63.2%). Based on the Rise or Fall Study Hub his value tier and projection tier sit at a B. Perfect for folks to just glance right over him.

PIT v CHC 7:05p 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes(FD-$3,000)(DK-$4,000)(Y!-$16)

Hayes does not hit a ton of bombs but the kid gets on base at a beautiful clip!

Hayes has finally started to move the needle and find his way. In all honesty, I do not think we have seen his final form. So far this season, through 60 games, his exit velocity stands out at 91.9, and his hard-hit rate of 50%. Ke’Bryan isn’t known for his power but his propensity of getting on base and stacking up multi-hit games does! Yet again, looking at the ROF tools, Hayes should only be 2.5% owned on FD and 2.6% on DK. In a ball game where the over eight runs should be a sure thing, I am asking you to treat Hayes as a sure thing in your DFS lines tonight.
