Top 4 MLB DFS Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel, Yahoo Fantasy Baseball Targets 6-24

Happy Friday! We made it through the week and now it is time to treat ourselves! Seeing how we are all into different things do as you please to relax and unwind. Personally, a good chocolate milkshake and some pizza is my way! What is yours?

As the baseball season moves along, we are starting to get a good picture of who is who and what times are legit. It is also, in a way, starting to open in terms of the team stacks and one-offs to play every night in DFS formats. Here are my thoughts for another massive slate!

Today’s baseball schedule gives us a full fifteen games! FanDuel’s Main slate is 14 games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is also 14 games and locks at 7:05p. While Yahoo! is in unison as their Main and locks at 7:05p and includes 14 games. Let’s dig into some of my favorite plays for Friday, June 24th, shall we?

CWS vs BAL 8:10p 1B Jose Abreu(FD-$3,100)(DK-$4,000)(Y!-$25)

The White Sox have a team implied total of around 5 runs tonight against RHP Austin Voth. A few things stand out when we look a little deeper into Voth’s pitching statistics. Austin throws his 4-seam fastball 42.9% of the time in addition to his curve around 28.9% of the time. Both are seemingly down and away. Also, Voth’s xSLG% to opposing batters sits at .538, not good. Expected Slugging Percentage (xSLG) is formulated using exit velocity, launch angle, and, on certain types of balls in play, Sprint Speed. Per the Rise or Fall Study Study Hub, Abreu is only at 0.90% owned on FD and 2.38% owned on DK. Also, looking at his projections tonight, Jose has a very good shot and destroying his projections and even 4 or 5 times the value.

CWS vs BAL 8:10p OF Andrew Vaughn(FD-$3,100)(DK-$3,900)(Y!-$23)

Was tough picking only two batters from this Sox lineup tonight against Austin! Voth has an ERA over 8 and, truth be told, has stunk as an RP and starter. He has some eye-popping reverse splits, which is beautiful for Chicago as their lineup is made up of mainly right-handed. Since sitting down last night and publishing my daily video, Andrew’s ownership percentages have taken off. Based on the ROF Study Hub he has gone from 1.2% on FD to now 8.1%. On DK he went from 2.7% to 10.5%. Realistically, it doesn’t bother me. Vaughn’s hard-hit rate is at 49.4% while his xSLG is at .482. Austin Voth is about to get wailed on!

STL vs CHC 8:15p 1B Paul Goldschmidt(FD-$4,000)(DK-$5,500)(Y-$28)

Goldy has been a man possessed this season. .340 AVG and .625 SLG percentage will do that! On the other hand, Kyle Hendricks is not that same pitcher we used to know and love. Kyle has an arsenal of pitches that includes a 4-seam fastball(28.7%), sinker(29.2%), and a change-up(30.5%). Of those three pitches, his sinker and change are mainly thrown down and away which happens to be Goldy’s sweet spot. Paul also has swung at the first pitch about 64.5% of the time. Checking into the ROF Study Hub, Goldy is an A+ student across the board with his tier value and projection value. Bombs away, right?

STL vs CHC 8:15p 2B/3B Nolan(FD-$3,100)(DK-$3,700)(Y!-$18)

The same rules apply to Nolan as they do with Gold. Gorman currently sports a .364 wOBA and .247 ISO against RHP this season. Kyle has had some tough splits this season against left-handed hitters as they have hit him harder. Don’t get me wrong, Gorman can whack a ball seeing how he has six bombs. Gorman’s Achilles heel though is the strikeouts(31% K rate). However, Hendricks isn’t a strike-out pitcher. At only 6.4% ownership on FD right now and 7.8% on DK, Nolan can smash his projections(10.18 on FD & 7.78 on DK) with one swing of the bat tonight!

ARZ v DET 9:40p 1B Christian Walker(FD-$2,900)(DK-$3,900)(Y!-$17)

Would it be acceptable for me to say stack Diamondbacks and Walker because they host the Tigers tonight? Ah, I figured it wouldn’t! Rony Garcia takes the hill for the Tigers tonight who hasn’t been awful. Glowing review I know but check this out! Walker, as of now, owns a 90.5 MPH exit velocity and a 45.8% hard-hit rate. While Rony’s exit velocity number is at 93.7 MPH and his hard-hit rate to opposing batters is 58%. Might be meaningless to some but I find it interesting. Christian’s batting average is awful, .208, but he has 19 total bombs. Walker is a buyer beware tonight as he will strike out a time or two but maybe he hits a home run later on in the 7th or 8th inning making it all good!

HOU at NYY 7:05p OF Yordan Alvarez(FD-$4,200)(DK-$5,700)(Y!-$27)

Yordan has hit four bombs in his last three games to bring his total to 21 this year. The right field at Yankee Stadium is like a middle school park at 314 feet. Mix that with Luis Severino and the heat he throws I find it to be a perfect storm for a slew of home runs for not only Yordan but also Bregman as he’s come alive! Alvarez is expensive tonight but worth every penny seeing how he looks to be owned at only 4% on FD and 7.1% on DK. Do not fool around tonight! Stack up Astros or just one-off Yordan Alvarez!
