Hello and happy Tuesday! We are in store for a massive night of baseball! At this point of the MLB season, you’re either all in or you’ve split in favor of football. That’s the normal ebb and flow of daily fantasy sports. If you’re still here rocking with me then thank you!

Today’s overall baseball schedule gives us 15 total all-day games! FanDuel’s Main slate is 14 games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is 15 games and locks at 7:05p. While Yahoo! main is 14 games and locks at 7:05p. A jam-packed day of baseball ahead! Let’s dig into some of my favorite plays for August 23rd, shall we?

NYM at NYY 7:05p 1B/DH Daniel Vogelbach(FD-$2,600)(DK-$3,800)(Y!-$15)

Vogey! I love this man! From Seattle to Pittsburgh, and now New York I still love the guy! In seasonal formats, his batting average may stink but in DFS formats he is a King! Case in point, last night when he hit a two-run 339-foot bomb! Let’s run it back tonight! If you’re in the know then we both know using left-handed hitters at Yankee Stadium is a thing! Plus, Frankie Montas has struggled to find his form since becoming a Yankee. Frankie has allowed 14 runs in 14 innings pitched in his first three starts with New York. I am aware I was all in on the Mets last night but maybe I was a day early.

ATL at PIT 7:05p 2B Vaughn Grissom(FD-$3,400)(DK-$2,300)(Y!-$25)

“Look at this youth movement!” said the local Braves play-by-play guys over the weekend after Vaughn hit a bomb and Michael Harris II knocked a double. Color me intrigued! Three home runs and two steals in 13 games played. Grissom has only played in 13 big league games but has accounted for three home runs and two steals in that time. DraftKings is basically forcing us to play him tonight given his price tag($2,300). I consider myself a gentleman so it would be rude of us not to roster Vaughn tonight!

SEA vs. WSH 10:10p OF Jesse Winker(FD-$3,000)(DK-$4,000)(Y!-$17)

I assume you are tapped into the MLB DFS scene if you’re here reading my article in late August. So, just another little reminder sometimes it’s more about stacking against a bad pitcher rather than the actual player being mentioned. Tonight, the Nats are sending RHP Erick Fedde to the hill. Jesse Winker has a .348 wOBA and .183 ISO against Fedde this year. Let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth and decline here.

SEA vs. WSH 10:10p OF Mitch Haniger(FD-$3,600)(DK-$4,000)(Y!-$19)

Mitch Haniger was recently activated from a long IL stint. Mitch is also still finding his bearings, but I have the utmost faith he comes around quick. Come to find out Mitch has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games after being activated! In addition, Haniger also hit his first bomb Sunday since his activation. Baseball is a lot of crunching numbers and statistics, but that one single bomb may get him rolling the rest of the way! Stack him up with Winker and BOMBS AWAY!

SF at DET 7:10p 2B/SS Thairo Estrada(FD-$3,300)(DK-$4,100)(Y!-$13)

Yes, I mentioned both players in the daily stacks video, but I also wanted to put these two guys in print. The Detroit Tigers are letting Drew Hutchinson toe the rubber in Detroit tonight. Drew is 1-6 with a 4.23 ERA and carries a 5.14 SIERA* and a 4.5% K-BB%. On Sunday at Coors Field Estrada accumulated one hit, one RBI, and scored twice in five at-bats. He’s projected to bat 6th in the order tonight in Detroit.

SF at DET 7:10p 2B/3B Wilmer Flores(FD-$3,200)(DK-$4,300)(Y!-$15)

In that same quick weekend series with the Rockies Wilmer was productive! Two hits, a triple, one RBI, and two walks. Not lighting the stat sheet on fire but beautiful production given his cost. Tonight, it looks as though Flores with be batting 2nd. I like his chances of hitting value, and then some, at Comerica Park tonight!

*Definition SIERA quantifies a pitcher’s performance by trying to eliminate factors the pitcher can’t control by himself. But unlike a stat such as xFIP, SIERA considers balls in play and adjusts for the type of ball in play. Taken directly from the MLB glossary.
