Today’s overall baseball schedule gives us 14 total all-day games! FanDuel’s Main slate is 8 games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is 8 games and locks at 7:05p. While Yahoo! main is also 8 games and locks at 7:05p. A jam-packed day of baseball ahead! Let’s dig into some of my favorite plays for August 24th, shall we?

PHI vs. CIN 7:05p OF Nick Castellanos(FD-$2,900)(DK-$4,400)(Y!-$22)

The old Detroit Tiger golden goose is heating back up for the Phillies! In Nick’s last 25 games, he has hit .347 with six doubles, four bombs, and 12 RBI! He is also riding a 13-game hit streak where he has slashed .364/.364/.545! The change to August has done Nick well and it’s like Fanduel doesn’t care! So, you’re saying I can roster a guy batting 5th in a red-hot Philadelphia lineup for only $2,900? Sign me up!

CIN vs. PHI 2B 7:05p Jonathan India(FD-$2,700)(DK-$4,600)(Y!-$17)

Unfortunately, India has been in and out of the lineup this year with nagging injuries. However, when healthy and active this kid can hit. Tonight, the Reds take on LHP Christopher Sanchez who throws his sinker 68.5% of the time! I will take my chances on India getting a hold of one here as he swings at the first pitch 63.7% of the time and in the zone 43.6% of the time. His ownership percentages aren’t much cause for concern at 6.5% on DK and only 3.9% on FD. If India is batting lead-off tonight, then let’s roll!

CHC vs. STL 2B/SS 8:05p Nico Hoerner(FD-$2,700)(DK-$4,300)(Y!-$11)

So far so good for one of the Cub’s youngest standouts. Heading into tonight’s game Nico has recorded a .322 average and .796 OPS in 195 at-bats at home. Also, Cardinal’s pitcher tonight Miles Mikolas has been solid but after two starts the Rockies literally wailed on him for 14 hits and 10 runs. That must mess with a guy, right? Nico will be in 100% of my lines tonight regardless of what format I am running. At only 1.3% ownership on FD and 1.4% on DK, it is a no-brainer!

STL at CHC OF 8:05p Lars Nootbar(FD-$3,200)(DK-$2,600)(Y!-$21)

Lars Nootbar was literally on no one’s radar until now. In his past 31 games, he’s gone supernova with a .318 batting average (31 for 99), four dingers, and more walks (25) than strikeouts (20). The Cubs are cool with sending out Luke Farrell to the hill tonight to make his MLB debut! Luke wasn’t exactly playing well in AAA beforehand as his 3-4 record and 5.03 ERA/1.46 WHIP show us. Lars has been hitting right-handed pitching very well over those last 31 games. Per the Rise or Fall Study Hub, his rating sits at 69.8 while he’s a better-suited play on FD given his lowly 7.8% ownership.

HOU vs. MIN 8:10p OF Kyler Tucker(FD-$4,000)(DK-$4,500)(Y!-$19)

I mentioned Tucker in today’s stack video and if you’re a little apprehensive about fully stacking the Astros just please make sure you run the little Tucker/Alvarez combo. Kyle carries a beautiful 89.91 rating into tonight’s slate.

HOU vs. MIN 8:10p OF Yordan Alvarez(FD-$4,100)(DK-$5,600)(Y!-$19)

Yordan Alvarez, this year, has a .294 average with 79 RBIs and 31 bombs. There comes a time when we decide and it’s final. Regardless of red flags or ownership percentages, Yordan is a must-play. On FD he is 14.3% owned as of now and 13.2% on FD. I do not care.
