Top MLB DFS Stacks (Quick Overview)

Welcome back everyone, hopefully you’re enjoying a great Saturday morning. Tonight we have a solid MLB slate to attack before we get into NFL Week 2 tomorrow. Let’s see if we can build our bankroll a little with some great MLB Stacks before we chase that Milly Maker tomorrow.

Astros vs Athletics LHP Cole Irvin

Cole Irvin has not been terrible this year, but, he hasn’t been great either. He enters tonight’s with  a 4.99 xfip and a 17.6% strikeout rate. Against right handed hitters is where we can target him, as he has allowed a 162 iso 44% fly ball rate and 43% hard contact rate against righties this season

There are plenty of right handed Astros to chose from tonight and all of them do serious damage against left handed pitching.

Jose Altuve – 503 xwoba 331 iso 48% hard contact
Jeremy Pena – 391 xwoba 172 iso
Alex Bregman – 509 xwoba 136 iso 45% hard contact
Chas McCormick – 482 xwoba 234 iso 53% hard contact
Martin Maldonado – 449 xwoba 267 iso 53% hard contact

Obviously, despite the lefty vs lefty matchup, you can target Yordan Alvarez. He hit 3 bombs last night, and this season he has a 509 xwoba 248 iso and 54% hard contact vs left handed pitching.

The bottom part of this order could be very interesting in large field tournaments. Projected 7,8,9 are Aledmys Diaz, Chas McCormick and Martin Maldonado. Since they are the lower part of the order I’m expecting them to be lower owned than the bigger name players batting above them so I’ll be targeting this group quite a bit tonight.

Mets vs Pirates RHP Bryse Wilson

Bryse Wilson enters today’s game with a 5.03 xfip and just a 14.8% strikeout rate. We can safely target hitters from both sides of the plate against him, however I will prioritize left handed hitters over righties tonight. This season Wilson has allowed a 394 woba 251 iso 50% hard contact rate and just a 15.2% strikeout rate vs left handed hitters. Against right handers, he’s slightly better, allowing a 333 woba 174 iso 40% hard contact

My top NY Mets target in this matchup:

Daniel Vogelbach – 471 xwoba 246 iso
Jeff McNeil – 430 xwoba 180 iso
Fracisco Lindor – 439 xwoba 145 iso
Eduardo Escobar – 426 xwoba 160 iso

So I know I said I’ll be prioritizing left handed hitters, but, I’ll have my fair share of the big right handed Panda Pete Alonso as well. Against right handed pitching this season Alonso has a 386 xwoba 243 iso and a 39% hard contact rate. Be sure to mix him in with your Mets lefties in this matchup tonight

Are you ready to dominate?

Twins vs Gaurdians LHP Konnor Pikington

Gaurdians left hander Konnor Pikington enters tonight’s  game with a 5.59 xfip and an 18.6% strikeout rate. He’s been really good against left handed batters, but, has struggled vs right handers this season. So far this year he has allowed a 152 iso 42% fly ball rate and 40% hard contact rate vs righties

Three right handed Twins bats really stand out to me in this matchup vs a left hander

Carlos Correa – 484 xwoba 250 iso 45% hard contact
Jose Miranda – 460 xwoba 274 iso 47% hard contact
Gio Urshela – 397 xwoba 160 iso 43% hard contact

We can mix in Gary Sanchez as well, he’s got big time power but is always a boom or bust option. He has a 404 xwoba 135 iso and 47% hard contact rate vs lefties this year but he also has a 30% strikeout rate

Guardians vs Twins RHP Josh Winder

Josh Winder will start Game 2 of today’s double header for the Twins. This season he has a 5.69 xfip and a 16% strikeout rate. He allows a 328 woba 195 iso and 42% fly ball rate vs right handed hitters, while also allowing a 189 iso and 43% fly ball rate to left handers

My top targets on in this Guardians lineup are

Josh Naylor – 400 xwoba 226 iso 39% hard contact
Oscar Gonzalez – 340 woba 179 iso 45% hard contact
Andres Gimenez – 386 xwoba 184 iso
Jose Ramirez – 395 xwoba 266 iso

This Guardians team has been one of the biggest surprises of this 2022 season so far. Sitting in 1st place with the youngest roster and the lowest payroll in the MLB is a true testament to the managerial greatness of Terry Francona

Rankings Today

These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’ll be using the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions

Something I like to do with this, is to give these players a THUMBS UP or 2, or 3, in Fantasy Cruncher so I can get more exposure to them throughout my lineups
