Welcome back everyone, we’ve got a nice MLB Humday slate to attack before we get buried in NFL Content over the next few days. Currently our top stack is the LA Dodgers in their matchup vs D’Backs right hander Zach Davies. It will be interesting to see which team ranks #1 as more lineups get confirmed as I’m seeing a few that I really like on this slate today.
D’Backs
The Dodgers will be sending right hander Michael Grove to the hill tonight vs the Diamondbacks. This season Grove has a 6.28 xfip and a 14.9% strikeout rate in limited action. He has allowed a 425 woba and a 39% hard contact rate to left handed hitters, while also allowing a 37% fly ball rate and 45% hard contact rate vs right handed hitters. As I said, the sample size is small here, but, I think we can attack him with some D’Backs bats tonight
Over the last 30 days the D’Backs have been hot vs right handed pitching, below I will list a few of my favorites and their key metrics vs right handed pitching in this time frame
These 4 hitters will be my build arounds in my D’Backs stacks this evening. You can see by their high xwOBA and ISO numbers that they’ve shown great power vs right handed pitching over the last 30 days
Dodgers
On the flip side of the D’Backs stack above, we have the Dodgers on the other side. Tonight they get a matchup vs right hander Zach Davies, who enters tonight’s game with a 5.26 xfip and a 17.8% strikeout rate dating back to the 2021 season. Since the start of the 2021 against left handed hitters he has allowed a 189 iso 37% fly ball rate and 37% hard contact rate. Against right handed hitters he has allowed a 188 iso and a 48% hard contact rate. We can safely target Dodgers hitters from both sides of the plate in this matchup
Over the last 30 days against right handed pitching these 4 Dodgers stand out to me
Trea Turner can always be included in your Dogers stacks, as he hits near the top of the order and should be on base a few times tonight. Max Muncy and Joey Gallo are in play as one off boom or bust targets as well.
Are you ready to dominate?
The MLB Study Hub is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily.
Within the Study Hub you will see today’s MLB Projections for every player along with advanced MLB Statistics like wOBA and ISO vs the Handedness of today’s starting pitcher.
Ownership Projections are included, along with a letter grade ranking system for every player on the slate.
Patrick Corbin was bad last year, and he’s been bad this year as well. He enters tonight’s game with a 4.76 xfip and 18.2% strikeout rate. He’s been really bad against right handed hitters allowing a 385 woba 216 iso and a 50% hard contact rate.
The Orioles have several right handed hitters we can target tonight who have been hitting left handers well all season long
Sometimes we don’t need to get cute, and, we should just play the guys in the best matchups. These right handed hitters, who smash left handed pitching, going up against a left handed pitcher who struggles against right handed batters seems like the easiest path to victory tonight.
Rankings Today
These rankings are not site-specific and are intended to give you a solid pool of players to build your lineups from. I’ll be using the standard positions, Catcher through Outfield in these rankings so be aware of that if you’re constructing teams on Draftkings where some players can play multiple positions
Something I like to do with this, is to give these players a THUMBS UP or 2, or 3, in Fantasy Cruncher so I can get more exposure to them throughout my lineups
