Welcome to the Top NFL DFS Picks for Steelers vs Browns Thursday Night Football Showdown! We kick off week 3 with a battle of AFC North rivals as the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns. The Steelers are 4.5 point favorites and the game has a low total of just 38.5 points.
For each primetime game this season, I will be providing you with my favorite plays at the Captain, MVP, Superstar positions as well as the flex position for DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo.
Captain/MVP/SuperStar Plays
There is no way around this that on paper this game looks to be an ugly one with a total of just 38.5. Fun fact, the last seven games that have had a total of 38.5 or lower have all gone under. For this game, I am going to keep it simple and focus on the best plays that have touchdown scoring upside.Â
That all starts with Nick Chubb. Chubb through the first two weeks of the season has gone for nearly 230 yards and three scores. He is averaging almost 6 yards a carry this year. While the Steelers have not allowed a 100 yard rusher yet, they did allow for Mixon to go for 145 total yards and without TJ Watt for the first time this year they allowed the combination of Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson to combine for over 115 yards on the ground while averaging just under 5 yards a carry.Â
Nick Chubb should be in line for huge day and is my favorite CPT/MVP/SuperStar play.Â

Diontae Johnson, WR $13,800 (DK), $12,000 (FD), $19 (Yahoo))
Diontae Johnson comes into this game averaging just 8.2 yards however, he has seen 22 targets through the first two weeks with his new QB Mitch Tribusky. In a game like this that could be very low scoring that is the type of target share numbers we will look for in a player. The Browns secondary hasn’t really fared too well this either with giving up the 8th passing yards so far this year and just coming off a game in which Joe Flacco threw for over 300 yards and 4 scores.
A break game game is coming for Diontae and this could be the week on a short week against a Browns defense that is coming off a massive collapse against the Jets.
Flex Plays
Amari Cooper, WR $9,400 (DK), $12,500 (FD), $22 (Yahoo))
Similar to Diontae, his QB is not someone who will throw deep too often so we are looking at Amari as someone who is going to see a lot of targets in this game and could take one to the house. Amari is coming off his first game big as a Brown with 9 catches and 101 yards and a score.
Amari at most sportsbooks has the 3rd or 4th best odds to score a TD in this game.
With such a low total, there is a very good chance we see both kickers end up as one of the higher-scoring players in this game. Take your pick with either the Browns or the Steelers kicker both make for great plays in this game with decent scoring floors.
