NFL DFS

NFL DFS Value Pick – Quarterbacks

Trey Lance – San Francisco 49ers

Trey is looking at possibly starting the first game of his career. 49ers starter, Jimmy Garoppolo, sustained a calf injury in Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks which caused him to miss the entire second half. There is some concern about Lance’s readiness after only playing one full year of college football. He does add another dimension to this offense in which he is much more mobile than Jimmy G, which was shown this Sunday by his 41 rushing yards. Trey’s 20.4 DraftKings points in one-half were more than Jimmy G had scored in 3 full games this season. Here’s to hoping he doesn’t give up the starting job and playing him at his floor NFL DFS salary.

Daniel Jones – New York Giants

Danny Dimes has been an excellent fantasy producer a quarter of the way through this season. Jones has hit value in three of four games this season. In last Sunday’s win against the Saints, he threw for 402 yards and two touchdowns. The icing on the cake for me is his rushing ability. Jones is averaging 6.3 rushes per game adding 47 rush yards per game. That’s almost 5 extra fantasy points on top of his passing production. This week he’ll face a Cowboys team that seems to be better defensively but they’ve still given up scores of 29, 17, 21, and 28.

NFL DFS Value Pick – Running Backs

Jeremy McNichols – Tennessee Titans

This play is totally dependent on the status of Julio Jones and AJ Brown who had both missed the Titans’ loss versus the Jets due to hamstring issues. One thing you’ll notice with hamstring issues is that they can be easily reinjured. In the starting wideouts absence, King Henry was the focal point of the offense touching the ball a total of 35 times. What really surprised me was that Henry’s backup, McNichols, was on the receiving end of 12 targets. He hauled in eight of them for 74 yards. This might not seem like tremendous numbers but on a PPR site like DraftKings, those catches are as good as gold. You’ll have to monitor the status of Jones and Brown throughout the week, but if they’re out I think McNichols can be a solid flex play.

Damien Williams – Chicago Bears

In Williams, we have another injury replacement. He’s priced appropriately for his expected workload. David Montgomery was injured in Chicago’s win over the Lions. Montgomery was having a great game with over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns. It appears as if avoided a major knee injury and will be out for about a month. This is where Williams is going to step in. In limited action on Sunday, he saw 8 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown, while catching both of his targets for 15 yards. The Bears face the Raiders this week who were gashed on the ground on Monday night by the Chargers.

NFL DFS Value Pick – Wide Receivers

Laviska Shenault – Jacksonville Jaguars

Laviska was the favorite target of Trevor Lawrence last Thursday. He was targeted a team-high seven times, bringing in six of them for 99 yards. Shenault has failed to reach the end zone this season. The Jaguars did lose wideout D.J. Chark to a fractured ankle and he is expected to miss an extended amount of time. This should open up the passing game for more opportunities to go Shenault’s way. Through four weeks Shenault is averaging 7 targets per game. Chark is leaving behind a 5.1 target per game share that is going to need to go to someone and one would imagine that Shenault will be a benefactor of his absence. The Jags face off against the Titans who’s defense looks susceptible after their loss to the Jets.

A.J. Green – Arizona Cardinals

What year is it? I don’t think it’s the year so much Green is surrounded by a competent team and quarterback, finally. Kyler Murray is spreading the ball around to all his targets but Green has seen a consistent 6 targets a game, every game this season. This week the Cardinals will face off against the 49ers who have struggled the last two weeks defensively. As teams focus to stop Nuk Hopkins, it opens up the other receivers to one-on-one coverage save as we’ve continually seen, Kyler Murray isn’t afraid to put the ball up and allow his receivers to make a play.

NFL DFS Value Pick – Tight Ends

Noah Fant – Denver Broncos

I love the talent this kid possesses. He is one of the new age tight ends that is big, fast, and strong. Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was concussed and let the game in the 2nd quarter but before he exited the contested he hit Fant for a touchdown. Assuming Bridgewater clears the concussion protocol I like Fant a whole lot more than with Lock under center. It’s a steep NFL DFS price to pay if Bridgewater is out, so keep an eye on his status through the week.

Mike Gesicki – Miami Dolphins

Gesicki finally found the end zone on Sunday. He was held without a score through the first three games but finally broke through. After rewatching the game it seems like backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett is getting into a rhythm with Gesicki who caught five of six targets for 57 yards and the above-mentioned score. This week the Dolphins will face off against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Two things stand out to me immediately, first is game script. The Buccs are 10.5 point favorites which tells me that the Dolphins will have to throw the ball to stay in the game. The other is the production they’ve given up to tight ends this season. Don’t believe me? Go take a look for yourself!

I know there are some blemishes on each of the players on the list, but remember – you get what you pay for!
