Top NFL DFS Value Picks for DraftKings | NFL DFS Week 7
Welcome to the Team Rise or Fall Top NFL DFS Value Picks for DraftKings article. It is here that we’ll look to identify potential spots that will allow you to pay down for plays that are expected to exceed their NFL DFS salaries and put you in a great spot to land on the right side of the cash line.
I’m ready to move past last week’s craziness in which Latavious Murray, Devonta Freeman, and Le’Veon Bell all scored a touchdown for the Baltimore Ravens – what year is this? Some smash spots just lets us down – I’m looking at you Washington. But, the great part about NFL DFS, there’s always a new week on the horizon!
NFL DFS Value Pick – Quarterbacks
Ryan Fitzpatrick  – Washington Football Team
You’re going to have to keep an eye on Fitzmagic’s status throughout the week. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports has reported that Fitz has a chance to be cleared from injured reserve. Fitz is mispriced should be be activated from IR. At only $4,400 he would be a massive steal and should easily hit his NFL DFS salary. It wouldn’t be quite the spot that Washington was in last week, but at his price he wouldn’t need to do much to make it worth your while. Green Bay possess a tough pass defense allowing 206.5 passing yards per game.
Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons
Matty Ice has played well through the first five games of the season. He’s thrown for multiple touchdowns in four out of five games this season. He’s also hit a minimum 3x his value in all but the first game of the season. This is a juicy matchup for the Atlanta passing game. Over the Dolphins last three games their pass defense is allowing 319.7 pass yards per game, which ranks second to last in the NFL. Ryan is dropping back an average of 40.8 times per game. What I’m seeing is 2+2 = attack the Dolphins through the air.
NFL DFS Value Pick – Running Backs
J.D. McKissic – Washington Football Team
Again, this is going to be an injury dependent play. Antonio Gibson has been playing through a fracture in his shin and left Sunday’s contest against the Chiefs early due to a calf issue. Gibson had an MRI on the calf to determine the extent of the injury so we’ll have to keep tabs on him. In his absence McKissic touched the ball 16 times, 8 rushed and 8 catches on 10 targets. Due to the PPR scoring in DraftKings I’m all for plugging in McKissic. I think he’s a better play with Heinckie at the helm.
James Conner  – Arizona Cardinals
I know it’s easy to favor Edmonds on a site like DraftKings because of the PPR format but Conner out-rushing Edmonds, 79 to 53. Conner is also getting the quality, red-zone touches. Conner has had 19 red zone carries through five games and has converted them into five touchdowns, whereas Edmonds has yet to find pay dirt this season. So far this season Houston is allowing 141.3 rushing yards per game, but what’s even more eye-opening is that over their last three games they’re allowing 166.3 yards on the ground. If the game script goes the way most think it will, I can see Conner rushing the ball 20+ times.
NFL DFS Value Pick – Wide Receivers
Jaylen Waddle – Miami DolphinsÂ
What I want to focus on here is Waddle with Tua at quarterback. I’m going to discount week two because Tua was injured early on and didn’t get to play much. In the two weeks the youngsters were able to play together in weeks one and six, Waddle scored 16.1 and 29 DraftKings points respectively. Waddle also has 18 targets in those two games. What this tells me is that there is a rapport that has continued from their Alabama days. Atlanta is allowing 29.6 points per game this season, second worst in the NFL.
A.J. Green – Arizona Cardinals
Green isn’t as washed up as a lot of people seem to think. He isn’t the number one option we saw him when he was a Bengal but he sure looks like a reliable wide receiver two in Arizona. The pressure DeAndre Hopkins takes off the rest of the receivers allows them to flourish in Kliff Kingsbury’s air raid offense. He’s winning the one-on-one matchups that he’s presented with and building trust with Kyler Murray. Green has double digit DraftKings point in four of six games this season. The is a great matchup for Arizona’s high powered offense.
NFL DFS Value Pick – Tight Ends
O.J. Howard – Tampa Bay BuccaneersÂ
This play, like some of the others, is going ti be dependent on the injury status of the teams original starter. Rob Gronkowski has missed some games to due an issue with his ribs and we haven’t gotten word as to what his status for this weekend will be. Howard and Cam Brate are in a timeshare as Gronks heals. Howard is the more athletic option who shined in the Buccs last game against the Eagles where he was targeted seven times bringing in six of them for 49 yards and a score.
Zach Ertz –  Arizona Cardinals
Newly acquired tight end Zach Ertz should see his first action this weekend. I’m realizing now that I’m writing up Ertz he’s my fourth Cardinal in this write up. He’s in an absolutely amazing spot, as are most Cardinals this week. The tight end position last weekend was nearly non-existent as the tight end position was only targeted once and previous starter Max Williams was out on IR the week prior. I imagine the Cards would like to get him some work and build his confidence.
I know there are some blemishes on each of the players on the list, but remember – you get what you pay for!
