Buffalo Bills @ Tennessee Titans O/U 53 BUF-3
Scenario 1: Game Stays Close
In this scenario, there are two outcomes we are trying to cover; a defensive battle and a shootout. For the defensive battle, I would roster the defense of the team you think will win the game. It is likely that both quarterbacks would struggle in this scenario. It’s likely that Ryan Tannahill will be missing two or three of his top receivers and it’s possible the Josh Allen could throw two to three picks. For the Buffalo side, I’m focusing on Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, John Brown, and Devin Singletary. For the Tennessee side, I’m focusing on Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill, Jonnu Smith, and Kalif Raymond. I would toss in the kicker of the team that you think wins as well.
For the shootout, think of it as a game of ping pong. Bills score, Titans score, Bills score, etc. For roster construction, I’d prefer a 4-2 build on DraftKings and a 3-2 build on FanDuel. Focus on players that you think have a chance to score multiple touchdowns. For the Buffalo side, I’m focusing on Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, John Brown, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, and Devin Singletary. In 150 max, I would have some shares of Dawson Knox and Zack Moss if he is active. For the Tennessee side, I’m focusing on Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill, Jonnu Smith, Anthony Firkser, Cody Hollister, and Kalif Raymond. For DraftKings, I want a Running Back, Wide Receiver in the Captain spot. For FanDuel, I want a Quarterback or Running Back in the MVP spot.
Scenario 2: Bills Dominate
In this scenario, we’re looking at a potential final score in the 30-14 range in favor of the Bills. For roster construction, I would roster 1 Titan at most. I’d lean towards Derrick Henry because he will be the focal point of the offense with so many key weapons inactive. I’m targeting Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, John Brown, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, and Devin Singletary for this scenario. My top plays are Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. Allen should be tossing the rock another 30-40 times in this spot and Diggs has emerged as Allen’s favorite target. Lock in the Bills Defense and Tyler Bass for this scenario. More sack opportunities for the defense and kicking opportunities for Bass. For Captian on DraftKings, I’d favor Stefon Diggs or Devin Singletary. For MVP on FanDuel, I’d roll with Josh Allen.
Scenario 3: Titans Dominate
In this scenario, the Titans are going to route the Bills to the tune of a final score of around 30-14. For roster construction, I would roster 1 Bill at most. I would roll with Josh Allen due to his high volume of pass attempts and rushing upside. I’m targeting Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill, Jonnu Smith, Anthony Firkser, Cody Hollister, and Kalif Raymond for this scenario. My top plays are Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown. Henry should see as many touches as he can handle and Brown is the only active receiver that has received a high volume of targets from Tannehill. Lock in the Titans Defense and Stephen Gostkowski for this scenario. More sack opportunities for the defense and kicking opportunities for Gostkowski. For Captian on DraftKings, I’d favor A.J. Brown or Derrick Henry. For MVP on FanDuel, I’d roll with Ryan Tannehill or Derrick Henry.
FantasyCruncher Limits and Groups
For limits, I want at most 1 defense and at most 1 kicker. I don’t envision a scenario where rostering multiples of those positions in the same lineup is an optimal play. FantasyCruncher just rolled out an update for groups that allows you to have multiple folders of groups. I’d recommend having a folder for each scenario that I described above and differentiating those groups throughout your 20 or 150 max contests. Focus on the correlation between the Captain/MVP and the remaining players. For example, I’m pairing Captain Stefon Diggs with Josh Allen and another pass catcher. This theorizes that the Bills will go pass-heavy and Allen will throw for multiple touchdowns. It is important in groups to keep the rotational guys out of your groups. This will allow you to have more control over your lineups.
