Today’s overall baseball schedule gives us 9 total all-day games! FanDuel’s Main slate is 8 games, and the first pitch is at 7:05p. DraftKings Main is 8 games and locks at 7:05p. While Yahoo! main is also 8 games and locks at 7:05p. A jam-packed day of baseball! Let’s dig into some of my favorite plays for August 22nd, shall we?

TB vs. LAA 7:10p 1B/3B Yandy Diaz(FD-$3,200)(DK-$4,100)(Y!-$20)

Yandy Diaz has been a solid DFS contributor this year and he now has multiple hits in four of his past five starts, including five doubles and a home run. He has hit .314 with a .383 wOBA over his past nine games and will likely return to his leadoff spot against lefty Tucker Davidson. Against LHP this season, Yandy has hit a comfortable .313 with three bombs! Already a smaller main slate(8 games) and three games with weather concerns Diaz is must have tonight. Looking at the Rise or Fall Study Hub, Yandy is only at 1.2% ownership on FD and 1.9% on DK.

TB vs. LAA 7:10p OF Manny Margot(FD-$2,700)(DK-$3,700)(Y!-$16)

Manuel is back! Fresh off the 60-day-IL after a knee sprain, Manny went 1-8 over the weekend. One thing that sticks out is his home/road splits. Given the fact, that Manny has played better on the road. All that aside, tonight the Rays are at home where Manny has hit for a .260 AVG and a .632 OPS. Furthermore, Margot is also better against left-handed pitching! In 45 at-bats he has recorded a .462 OPS. Based on the ROF Study Hub Manny’s rating is grim at only 21.19. However, 3.0% owned on FD and 2.5% on DK tell a different story. His rating stinks, but his ownership is higher than Diaz and tied with Randy Arozarena. While the slate may be cut down by weather don’t overlook the return of Manuel Margot.

CIN at PHI 7:05p OF Jake Fraley(FD-$2,600)(DK-$2,500)(Y!-$16)

Welcome back, Jake! Since returning from the IL on August 13th, Fraley has been batting .355 with a 1.266 OPS in addition to 12 runs, two doubles, four bombs, and eight RBI. Not to mention the Reds have bumped him up to the top spot as their leadoff hitter! Jake has also homered in each of the last two games. Tonight’s Main slate from writing, broadcasting, and DFS playing standpoint is filled with landmines. Case in point, the weather and potential rain in Philly. Jake will be a popular play tonight given his lowly price tag but please double-check the weather before lock! Don’t freak out here but Fraley’s ownership percentages may get a tad out of whack tonight. Jake is currently at 6.0% on FD and 9.4% on DK.

MIN vs. TEX 7:10p 1B/3B Jose Miranda(FD-$3,600)(DK-$3,900)(Y!-$20)

If I’m not mistaken there was a big buzz around Miranda to start the season. Also, Jose was mentioned in this article. Then, like a ghost, he disappeared. Yet here we are! Shockingly enough the Twins are battling for the AL Central while placing Jose at the clean-up spot! The Rangers are sending Cole Ragans and his 5.02 ERA to the hill tonight. Texas has also lost 12 of its last 16 games on the road. So far this month Miranda has recorded a .837 OPS.
