Andrew McCutchen
First up, we have Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s priced at $5,000 on DraftKings and is projected to bat third in the order against Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. Pitchers with similar repertoires to Freeland have an ERA of 4.58 against the Pirates over the last year, which bodes well for McCutchen’s DFS outlook. With a DK projection of 10.36 and a DK FP/$ of 2.07, McCutchen is a top play in the outfield for Monday’s slate.
Nate Lowe
Another player to consider is Nate Lowe of the Texas Rangers, who’s priced at $4,400 on DraftKings. He’s projected to face off against Kansas City Royals right-hander Jordan Lyles, who’s struggled against Rangers hitters in recent matchups. Lowe has a DK projection of 10.26 and a DK FP/$ of 2.33, making him an attractive option at first base.
Ke’Bryan Hayes
Ke’Bryan Hayes of the Pittsburgh Pirates is another player to keep an eye on. He’s priced at $3,800 on DraftKings and is projected to bat first in the order against Freeland. Like McCutchen, Hayes should benefit from the matchup against Freeland and his similar repertoire of pitchers. With a DK projection of 10.22 and a DK FP/$ of 2.69, Hayes is a strong value play at third base.
Adolis Garcia
Moving on to the outfield, we have Adolis Garcia of the Texas Rangers. He’s priced at $4,900 on DraftKings and is projected to bat fourth in the order against Lyles. Once again, Rangers hitters are expected to perform well against Lyles, making Garcia an appealing option. With a DK projection of 10.03 and a DK FP/$ of 2.05, Garcia is a solid choice for your DFS lineup.
J.D. Martinez
Finally, we have J.D. Martinez of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who’s priced at $4,400 on DraftKings. He’s projected to face off against New York Mets left-hander David Peterson, who has struggled against left-handed hitters with above-average groundball rates. Martinez fits that bill and should be in a good position to produce for DFS players. With a DK projection of 8.74 and a DK FP/$ of 1.99, he’s a strong play in the outfield for Monday’s slate.
Value Plays
While the above players are some of the top plays for Monday’s MLB DFS slate, there are a couple of value-priced players that could provide a big boost to your lineup.
Aledmys Diaz
Next on our list is Aledmys Diaz from the Oakland Athletics, who is an absolute steal at just $3,000 on DraftKings. Diaz has been in fine form lately, boasting a .333 batting average over the last seven games and hitting two home runs during that time. He’s set to face the Chicago Cubs and pitcher Hayden Wesneski, who is making his MLB debut. Diaz should be able to take advantage of this matchup, especially considering that Wesneski is an unknown quantity at this level. Additionally, the Cubs have struggled to contain right-handed hitters this season, which bodes well for Diaz.
Austin Hays
Another value-priced player to consider is Austin Hays of the Baltimore Orioles. Hays is priced at just $2,800 on DraftKings and has been hitting well lately with a .320 batting average over his last seven games. He’ll be facing off against the Detroit Tigers and their starter, Casey Mize. While Mize has shown some promise, he’s still a young pitcher with a limited sample size in the majors. Hays has the potential to provide some value with his speed on the basepaths as well, as he’s stolen three bases already this season.
